7 Story COndo
Much of addressing the lack of affordable housing has focused on “missing middle” housing (see our other design for an example). Equally important is mid-rise housing that doesn’t fall victim to the “sardines-in-a-can” approach to densification.
Taking advantage of the Neighborhood-Commercial Zones in Seattle has the potential to yield high-quality, livable apartments as comfortable spaces to raise and sustain families in thriving communities. Using the average square footage of one, two and three bedroom apartments averaged out, = (650+900+1200)/3 we created a 7 story apartment complex on an average lot for Neighborhood Commercial districts, with Mandatory Housing Affordability (MHA) as the inspiration for the design.
